Klaipėda granite site (Minijos Street 180, LT-93269 Klaipėda)
In 2009, at the initiative of Gediminas Skvernys, Director of Commerce, AB Dolomitas began importing and selling crushed granite stone shipped by sea from the Scandinavian countries. For this purpose, a crushed granite stone storage site was equipped in Malkų Bay in the Klaipėda Port (at the territory of UAB Malkų Įlankos Terminalas). Trade started with the main size of crushed granite stone, 31.5–63 mm, which is used for railway construction. In 2011, the range of Klaipėda granite was supplemented with five more sizes: 0–2 mm, 8–11 mm, 11–16 mm, 2–5 mm, and 5–8 mm, which are used for road construction. From the crushed granite stone terminal in Klaipėda port, products are shipped by heavy road vehicles or by rail. The loading capacities of this terminal have grown every year.
Working hours of the site: Monday – Friday, 8:00-17:00
In 2012, demand for crushed granite stone sized 31.5–63 mm increased remarkably, so in that same year a place was chosen for the loading and storage of crushed granite stone at the terminal of the company UAB MABRE LPC (which later changed its name to UAB Kaminera). From 2012 to 2015, this terminal transshipped more than 300,000 tonnes of crushed granite stone. Loading operations at this terminal continued until the end of 2015.
In 2013, one more crushed granite stone storage site was established at the berth of the territory of UAB Vakarų Laivų Gamykla, where more than 150,000 tonnes of crushed granite stone was transshipped from 2013 to 2015. At this site, loading operations also continued until the end of 2015.
The quantity of crushed granite stone transshipped at the territory of Klaipeda Stevedoring Company (AB KLASCO) in 2013 and 2014 amounted to 86,000 tonnes (various sizes). Loading operations were resumed at this terminal this year.
