The laboratory was set up in 1965. In 2011, by a decision of the National Accreditation Bureau of the Republic of Lithuania under the Ministry of Economy, the laboratory of AB Dolomitas was recognised as meeting the requirements of the LST EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005 standard and was accredited to perform quality tests of mineral materials (fillers) and sampling. To certify this, it was issued Accreditation Certificate No LA 01.117 for compliance with the LST EN/IEC 17025:2005 standard. In 2016, the laboratory was re-accredited for a period of five years. http://www.nab.lt/Bandymu_laboratorijos-91.

In 2013, the laboratory was the organiser of inter-laboratory comparative testing (CT) Mineral Materials (Fillers) – 2013 according to LST EN 1097-6+AC:2003; LST EN 1097-6+AC:2003/A1:2005, Section 8; LST EN 933-4:2008; and LST EN 1097-2:2010, Sections 5 and 6. Authorisations to carry out the CT programme were granted by Order No V-7 of the Director of the National Accreditation Bureau of the Republic of Lithuania under the Ministry of Economy, dated 4 March 2013.
